Chaipat's practice focuses mainly on banking and finance, corporate restructuring, business rehabilitation and project finance. He is specialized in research, providing opinions and analysis of legal issues particularly in areas of partnerships and companies, public and private limited companies, laws and regulations on commercial banks, finance companies, securities companies, stock exchange, drafting of finance-related and business contracts, security documentation, concession contracts and other related documents.

He has advised on all aspects of petrochemical, energy, real estate, property fund and other type of projects including advice to banks (Bangkok Bank, Thai Farmers Bank (now Kasikorn Bank),The Siam Commercial Bank, The Thai Military Bank (now TMB Bank), Krung Thai Bank, Export-Import Bank of Thailand, Dai-ichi Kangyo Bank and The Industrial Finance Corporation of Thailand (now TMB Bank)), the negotiation and preparation of project finance documentations both onshore and cross-border (eg. Indonesia, Cambodia and Lao PDR) (National Petrochemical, Tuntex Group of Companies, Vinythai Public Company Limited, Bangkok Industrial Gas, IRPC (formally TPI Group), Banpu, Italian Thai Group, Otani Radial, Innovex, Unilever Group, True Move, Bangchak Petroleum and Petro Chain), and the negotiation and preparation of financial documentations for securitization (Nithipat Leasing, SITCA Securities/Leasing, etc.).

His experience extends to advising on all aspects of power projects, including advice to syndicates of banks and financial institutions (Dai-Ichi Kangyo Bank, Bangkok Bank, Thai Farmers Bank (now Kasikorn Bank), The Industrial Finance Corporation of Thailand (now TMB Bank) and Thai Danu Bank (now TMB Bank)) and the negotiation and preparation of financial documentations for independent power producers (Banpu Power, Bangkok Cogeneration in Rayong Province and Samutprakarn Cogeneration in Samutprakarn Province) both in Thailand and Lao PDR.

More general experience includes advising Nithipat Finance Public Company Limited, Nithipat Leasing and Sitca Finance and Securities Public Company Limited on the negotiation of securitization agreements; acting for a syndicate of banks on the reorganization and debt restructuring of Bangkok Expressway Public Company Limited (BECL) advising Pathumthani Water Co Ltd on the concession contract for distribution of water to the Provincial Waterworks Authority in Pathumthani Province; and acting for Thai Cold Rolled Steel Sheet Public Company Limited on the cold-rolled steel sheet project in Prachuab Krikhan Province.

Chaipat obtained his LL.B. (with Honors) from Chulalongkorn University; Thai Barrister-at -Law Certificate and LL.M. from Columbia University, New York.
