Lersak’s practice focuses mainly on banking and commercial litigation, insolvency and bankruptcy, debt restructuring and business rehabilitation, international and domestic arbitration and regulatory investigations. He is well-experienced in providing in-depth legal advice and strategic analysis on commercial laws, commercial contracts and hire of work contracts with the government authorities and state enterprises.

Lersak represented many international and local banks and financial institutions including ABN Amro (now RBS), Bank of America, Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi, BNP Paribas, Citibank, Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank, DBS, Keppel TatLee Bank, KfW, Mizuho Corporate Bank, OCBC, Thai EXIM Bank and UOB in many high valued banking litigations involving disputes derived from or in connection with syndicated loans, credit facilities, L/C, trust receipts, financial instruments, derivatives, personal and corporate guarantees, and other security documents.

He has been very active in debt restructuring and business rehabilitation. He represented foreign and local creditors, the planers and plan administrators in restructuring the debt of many large corporate debtors via the business rehabilitation process under the Bankruptcy Court. He acted on some of the most complicated business rehabilitation cases in Thailand including TPI Polene, Prasit Pattana and Phayatai Hospital Group, Tanayong and Alpha group. He also represented foreign banks and financial institutions in dispute with one of the largest cement producers in Thailand on termination of debt repurchase program in the Bankruptcy Court.

In addition, Lersak has been very active in both international and domestic arbitrations. He represented many international and Thai corporate clients in conducting their arbitrations under the arbitration rules of the Thai Arbitration Institute and UNCITRAL arbitration rules. He worked jointly with a leading Singapore law firm in the arbitrations conducted in the Singapore International Arbitration Centre concerning disputes between Singaporean and Thai parties. He also acted as arbitrator in an arbitration conducted under the arbitration rules of the Thai Arbitration Institute.

Lersak obtained his LL.B. with Honors from Thammasat University and his LL.M. from New York University, USA. He also obtained his Thai Barrister-at-Law Certificate from the Institute of Legal Education, Thai Bar Association.
